Overview
Natural Orifice Endoluminal Endoscopic Surgery (NOEES) uses native anatomical pathways to reach, treat, and repair target organs. Its clinical goal is to reduce trauma, preserve organs, accelerate recovery, and offer ultra-minimally invasive options for complex digestive diseases.
Clinical significance
Professor Jianguo Zhang developed the NOEES framework as a complete surgical logic rather than a single endoscopic maneuver. It includes access planning, instrument coordination, risk control, perioperative management, and standardized training.
Clinical translation and limitations
For digestive endoscopy, NOEES is meaningful because it turns original clinical experience into a reproducible platform for diseases of the gallbladder, bile duct, pancreas, stomach, intestine, and early digestive tumors.
